You just love contradicting yourself, don't you? You post work that promotes peace and respect and then you post crap like this that says an entire nation of people are junk because they don't live the same way you do.

What a waste. Figure out what it is you're trying to say. bye-bye

I'm not sure what the message is supposed to be here. I am an America convert to Islam. I don't think all of American culture is contradictory to Islam, however the Western and especially American culture is constantly pushed on the rest of the world and oppresses other cultures, and, in this case, religions.
But Muslims are not anti-American because of Islam, but rather they do not agree with some of the ideologies and the secular culture.

O Brothers of my way of life (which is supposedly Islam, but due to Islam's recent association with terrorism, I don't know what name shall i give to it, for i only believe in the oneness of Allah and the messages of His Prophet), reject the junk, reject OUR junk, and take what is good from both sides.

seriously, Internet and this very site is littered with U.S. cultures, cross that, even COMPUTERS come from U.S. cultures.

I, for one, refuse to reject my personal computer and the privilege of...Internet.

Islam is a religion of peace
i a muslim and i'm a girl
also i'd like to specify that the men in the video [link]
is an extremist
my father had never beaten my mother, my granpa either and no one in my family did that
in sourate anour ( quoran ) you can read that allah told muslims to respect women and to protect her .
she is a human too
however, the american or occidental culture marked us a lot so you can see lot of women not veiled and not respecting the religion
and no body blamed them
it's there life and her own problem
also muslims don't hate jews and christians
there are lot of surates in quran which talks about war and say to not kill women, children and old people.
are jews respecting that ? [ war between israel and palestine ]
so please do not say that islam is a religion of war and violence !
ps: sorry for my weak english --'*Nice weekend

As a mainland American-born Latino/Hispanic male of the descendants of Adam and Eve(pbut) and raised to believe I was Catholic and usually spent time around other Catholics but occasionally those of the other denominations of "Christendom" as well I must disagree with much of the logic therein regarding the relationship between God, to Who all praise is ultimately due, and Jesus(pbuh) who was the slave servant prophet messenger in this life of the former–as I believe his special assignment, like all true prophets, was from God Himself.

One thing I must say, having spent 2/3 of my life as a Christian, albeit the existence of the cliché "'Good' and 'Bad' are found in all peoples" I must say that when the subject of conversation became Islam–of all good things I have experienced in this life none rewards me with a flow of love and remembrance in my heart of God as I've experienced via the utilization of Islam–I find it is met with sharp, ignorant words interjected in a fashion to simply hurt and provoke an equally ignorant retaliation no matter how long it takes because when all is said and done most of them are hard-hearted and didn't want to genuinely learn anything about Islam in the first place or the last. But many do wish to know more, and we find Islam alluring. The recognition of the sphere of influence in even the most mundane of actions as echoing out as reward or retribution for all time to come–even the intentions judged by God. And He is a just God–He doesn't lead people to believe another can pay for my sins, I'm not afraid to say that that is a grave injustice of reality and logic for which God, I believe, is incapable. There are many biblical references that dissuade me from believing in God-ship being a duet, trinity, quartet or anything but one. A lot of us whom accept Islam feel like we were Muslim all along... its odd, but it's how I feel as well. God knows best.

I have read the translation of qur'aan 5 1/2 times since the first time, alhamdulillah. It only took the first to have this inquisitively skeptical mind to accept Islam. Right [about 2 weeks] before I did I'd declared myself a "Unitarian Christian"–for the Oneness of God is the fulcrum upon which rests ALL of Islam. This, to me and anyone whom believe in the All-Mighty Most-High, this is quite important. Of all things my brother from the seed of Adam and Eve, Jesus(pbut), would have never claimed to be God–that convolution of the truth comes after The Gospel.

I found a peace with Islam I never had calling myself Christian... and I think the person I see in the mirror today is much better. God knows best.

Leave your brain to the media and they'll gladly turn it to unquestioning mush... PEACE BE WITH YOU.

The very roots of islam is blooshed.
'allah' was actually a moonrock deity in the arabian peninsula, in a PANTHEON of gods. Until mohamy gathered enough followers to kill off the rest of the pantheon. You know what he did? Convert by the sword. He is the purest form of islam you can get, all the ones who claim islam to be a belief of peace, is eithe like the hijackers of 9/11, calming you down, making you complacent, until they strike. Recently like at the airport.

Reject the false religion that is islam.

Mr Erixon is right. I mean... I am a muslim and I have no trouble, whatsoever, with the American people. Man, one of my best friends is American. However, we SHOULD reject the American slaughters on our families here, in the Middle East. There definately are things in the culture we have to change but many to keep in mind.

Remember that, k...

As it turns out Islam is very respectful and reverent toward women. However, in fundamentalism, the goals of religion are lost. Just take Christian Fundamentalism for example. If you read the biblical Gospels without reading later on in the Bible and without dogma, Jesus mostly sounds like a man with 1) a gift from God. 2) intentions of mixing Humanism and Judaism. However, fundamentalists make Jesus sound like a tyrant with an inferiority complex. All that aside... Fundamentalism is fundamentalism is fundamentalism. Some people are just too obsessed on religion.

"Fundamentalism" isn't what's currently holding back the causes of civilization. The Islamic jihad is.

And at thier core, the teachings of Jesus are absolutely nothing like those of Muhammad.

Actually, yes, or so you can argue. The history of the conflict between Christianity and Islam doesn't start with the sacking of Jerusalem. The Crusades themselves were a long delayed backlash against centuries of Islamic conquests of formerly Christian lands (the brutality of which easily matched that which the crusaders displayed later). Those warriors had essentially the same goals and motives then as jihadists have now. I don't claim to be an expert or anything, but it does concern me.

If I recall, the definition of a 'jihad' is not a holy war, like the Christian crusades, but simply 'struggle in the name of Allah'. Jihads are not supposed to be aggresive, indeed they can only be called if Islam has been assualted and it has many rules regarding it. Therefore if there a jihad on the so-called American West then it is not a proper jihad at all, and the terrorists are not proper Muslims.

Stop labelling all of Islam under the term 'terrorist'.
