Darwin.. Darwin and his 'theory of evolution'.... and 'survival of the fittest'..... it's the reason the United States feels superior to all others... We are taught it in schools as kids.... This drawing reminds me of it, it's perfect...People are taught in schools that Darwin says we came from apes.. but they aren't told the whole story... Darwin's theory was that the evolutionary process refines and improves humans and society. Darwin implied that humans shared their origin with the ape. He regarded white Europeans as more “advanced” than other human races. Even after he wrote 'Origin of the Species' he wrote another book 'The Descent of Man' which he boldly commented on "the greater differences of men of distinct races.' And while Darwin presumed that man evolved from ape-like creatures, he said that some races developed more than others and that others still showed simian features. Darwin’s thoughts about dark-skinned natives were accepted, providing new footing for racism and then imperialism and colonization. Europeans marched into the underdeveloped lands of Africa, Asia and the Pacific to plunder their peoples and their resources… Progressive imperialists explained that their mission was to civilize the natives, those backward unfortunates on the lower rungs of man’s evolutionary ladder....... What is the United States doing today?

Don't worry, I'm with you on this one. Yes, there were other countries in Vietnam in the 60s and 70s (and the 50s, 40s, so on), but out of them which ones used Agent Orange? However decisions like those were more upper echelon decisions. No one ordered the draftees to provide zippo patrols though.

*sigh* You do realize there were more countries in Vietnam don't you? Where are the French, Russian, Chinese and How about a picture for the North Vietnemese. Critizing the US is easy. To say that Vietnam is a black and white issue and only blame the US is just plain lazy....

is this referring to vietnam? do you even realize people were DRAFTED?? meaning they didnt have a choice and probably didnt want to be there, at all? in this picture you are demonizing the soldiers that were forced to be there. i dont support ANY war, but regardless, i think you see war in black and white terms. You are quick to accuse and point out the cruelties but i dont see you offering up solutions. i bet its easy to live in another country and stereotype americans, as if we are all this way! lol. as if we all have this attitude.
